our Superhero lawyers

Emma-Jane Taylor-Moran, Principal Employment Law Solicitor

Owner, founder and all-round general manager of everything Rebel Law related.

With 20 years' legal experience, Emma-Jane has bags of knowledge and insight into employment law and HR issues.

She understands the challenges facing small business owners, and her straight-talking approach goes down well.

For employees who need her help, she has been there and got the T-shirt. Clients appreciate her empathy and practical problem solving to their workplace problems.

She represents both employers and employees and likes nothing more than getting stuck in and sorting things out.

Clients seem to like her a lot, and she gets great results, both of which are what matters. Once, someone called her a Negotiating Demon.

She keeps chickens, is unnervingly good at reading people’s minds, and her secret nickname that nobody calls her is Champion the Underdog.

Laura Sheridan, Legal Executive

Kirsty Taylor-Moran, Trainee Solicitor

Kirsty Taylor-Moran, Trainee Solicitor

Laura likes to fight for professionals who are having difficulties at work, or who have complaints about being unfairly treated. As well as practising employment law, she also specialises in representing individuals in regulatory proceedings in the social care sector.

Laura is passionate about helping people stand up against unfairness and discrimination. She is also a keen advocate at disciplinary hearings.

Like she doesn’t have enough to do, Laura is also a Union Rep in her other life.

Based in the Midlands, Laura referees two teens at home and she takes no prisoners!

Kirsty Taylor-Moran, Trainee Solicitor

Kirsty has many talents, not least that she is able to juggle a hundred things at once and enjoys getting stuck in to anything that helps our clients.

She is a lawyer in training, a whizz at assimilating information and assists fee earners with their drafting work as well as handling her own cases. The apple didn't fall far.

Kirsty is also a small business owner, and a local Green Party Town Councillor in Hertfordshire. She is mad-keen about saving the environment and the zero-waste movement, and wrangles two small cheeky boys at home on a daily basis.

Jane Johnson, Consultant Employment Solicitor

Katharine Ryder Richardson, Consultant Employment Solicitor

Katharine Ryder Richardson, Consultant Employment Solicitor

Jane is a straight-talking Mancunian mum of two Londoners. She is a networking demon and seems to know everyone, and they all want her to work with them. Her knack for getting to the nub of the legal issue and offering her very sensible take on things is appreciated by clients.

She is a fighter, but also a pragmatist – think imaginary lovechild of Gallagher and Gandhi. We call her Scrappy Doo. No we don’t, but she really is a fantastic tribunal fiend. She is also lucky to be Jane with the Good Hair.

Katharine is fastidious about detail and has a sixth sense in understanding the bigger picture, the commercial realities and the right thing to do.

She gives spot-on employment law advice to businesses to help them "get it right", which is good for them, their staff morale, and reduces the risk of tribunal claims, which is good for their bank balance!

She listens to their needs and concerns and provides in-depth bespoke advice to employers (and sometimes employees). Katharine juggles children (while wakeboarding and playing the guitar- not usually at the same time) in the South of England.

Our HR Superheroes

Katherine Duff, HR Consultant

Katherine puts both the human and humour into Human Resources. She is an amazingly sensible and experienced HR professional, who goes to bed each night knowing she has made a difference to her clients. Whether she is handling a tricky resignation, running a smooth hassle-free redundancy process or supporting an employee moving into a new job role- she is driven by taking a bad situation and making it better.

Her employer clients say that she is a good person to have in their corner- supportive, hands on, pragmatic, with the right amount of compassion and fun. She only works with clients who send cake.

Katherine used to have 12 fingers and slightly regrets losing the extras, as she could have been so much better at playing the piano!
